Karma travel in India
Ganga Land update & video/pic clips in Varanasi and Rishikesh
What is to become of the rough draft of the book in the process I titled Ganga Land? If there is a publisher my agent finds, I will use the next few months to finish it. If not… I am including a voice note with this post to share my thoughts on it all (sorry about the hiccups, haha).
I have a couple more weeks left in India. It wasn't easy at first. A lot of karma is involved in bringing the ashes of another, in this case, our Aji, to India. We all loved her dearly.
Then, I drank sugar cane juice with ice in Varanasi to load another layer of detox to the body. So it wasn’t until we went through South India and Punjab that I finally settled in Rishikesh and felt well. My friends Ravi and Sasikumar helped me a ton with the pilgrimage travel cause I was sick.
My nephew Kyle was a trooper and proved himself a Traveling Raja on this trip. My wife and her sister greatly appreciate him for making the trip with us:
Here’s a monkey I irritated in Varanasi (my biggest youtube hit this time lol) and still have a bruise to show for it:
Along where we stayed at Chausathi Ghat a video:
That was so cool, as it's in one of those windows we stayed at, which is the same place where Sri Yukteshwar had a room overlooking the Ganges when he was in Varanasi, when Yogananda met him.
It's been wonderful to swim and practice next to the Ganges and I’ve a few more weeks. I have been doing quite a bit of different types of bodywork. Lots of detox going on, especially with the kidney/liver.
This is a photo of Baba Jean at the cave beach where I swim in the Ganga in Lakhsman Jhula:

During the lockdown, the French baba and I were best friends, and this is from last year. We built a huge all-night fire. I miss him this year.
I did get to hang out with Mani for a week, which was a blast. She showed us the rose gardens of Chandigarh before we all traveled to Rishikesh.

And coming back to the metaphor I mentioned in the audio clip to start, here’s a video update of where they are on building the new Hanuman bridge:
It was supposed to be finished by March, 23. Then it was delayed for a year, and they said March, 24, and now they say March, 25, but progress is scant is seems. Now there’s a lot of internal State conflict about who is responsible for the delay, with fines, and a lack of will to finish it timely. I’ve heard talk of it being federalized, and Modi getting to thereby celebrate the end of the Lakhsman Jhula bubble and its old ways with a ribbon cutting.
I’ve sent along a proposal to my agent who is shopping Ganga Land as I’ve asked for a publisher with an editor to finish this, if its going to be. Let’s see.
Let's see then, and best of Luck! ;-)
Good luck with your book, Jerome.
